Job Description

Our client is a multinational company in Oil & Gas industry.

Tonnage Market Strategy

  • Support development of the Global Tonnage market strategy

  • Input to development of the regional and country Tonnage strategy

Market Development

  • Initial customer engagement

  • Establish the opportunity business cases with a clear definition of benefits, returns and risk profile

  • Position in reference with the overall opportunity, and proposing an engagement strategy

  • Lead the opportunity team in the solution and business case development

  • Frame / define the value proposition in opportunities

  • Contribute to identifying and developing the value drivers that will lead to new tonnage contracts

  • Develop relationships with customers that present growth opportunities for the Group

Tonnage Business Development

  • Contribute to the development of the tonnage strategy for the cluster both near and long-term which is realistic and will deliver the stated objectives (through commercialization stage)

  • Develop focused, tactical customer engagement plans which give insight and differentiation thereby enhancing ability to negotiate/win

  • Build preferred or exclusive arrangements with customers

  • Lead opportunities from the identification stage through successful negotiations and contract award

  • Development of a robust technical and commercial solution which can be negotiated and executed successfully

  • Develop the business case for new tonnage investments into a binding commercial position

  • Define and ensure best commercial practice to achieve maximum result while managing risk

Tonnage Account Management

  • Develop and manage account strategies and customer relationship for major customers in the cluster

  • Communicate strategic objectives of the customer plans to internal stakeholders

  • Maximize performance of the tonnage business in the cluster, by leading the development and implementation of customer engagement plans

  • Ensure contract renewals (and new contracts) are negotiated on a timely basis, bringing in functional expertise from Tonnage Business Development as appropriate

  • Proactively participate with GBUT Regional Business Development team on business development at the cluster. Contribute to the business development process by ensuring that the value of local customer relationships and local strategic issues are incorporated into the development ofinvestment opportunities

  • Act as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) during the Commercialisation Process of new investments at the cluster


  • Lead the overall business development effort on specific opportunities

  • Proactively provide input to the project approval process to ensure timely submission of the required approvals documentation

  • Understand and enhance multi-functional and multi-cultural team dynamics

Job Requirements

  • Commercial skills preferably experience with long term supply contracts

  • Advanced negotiation capability

  • Robust analytical skills combined with creative problem-solving skills

  • Ability to influence and develop strategic relations

  • Good networking skills

  • Working in a matrix style cross functional, team based environment

  • University degree (preferably technical)

  • Advanced degree (MBA or technical) is a plus

  • Fluent in English , Vietnamese speaking is preferred

  • 7 - 10 years experience in industrial sales, preferably with experience of long term supply contracts

  • Significant experience in large scale industrial environment, preferably with exposure to steel industry or utility services

  • Background in ASU / HYCO business is preferred
