Lead a Team of 8 staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of the processing of all the sub processes under the Closing process, including proper value determination of inventory provisions, sales return reserves and allowances.
Ensures compliance with US GAAP and our Global Finance Policy
Meet/ Exceed target SLAs and ensure that activities and transactions are processed in accordance with the defined Process Flows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Ensuring value determination of inventory provisions, sales return reserves and allowances per US GAAP and our Global Finance Policy
Work with all the markets to manage and deliver their expectations. Ensure that services are rendered to the markets as per documented process
Motivate, Direct and Lead a team that excels in execution and delivery of the work for all the markets and branches within the APD region
Own the General Ledger closing processes. Review and approve the ‘judgmental’, ‘rules based’ and ‘value determination’ activities within the Closing process. Following on this, ensure that such activities are fed in to the transactional team to get the transactional processing completed.
Perform Balance Sheet Variance analysis and reporting. Work with Market to drive Trial Balance review with Regional Level Controllers
Call out and implement when possible, opportunities to drive continuous improvements in efficiency, productivity to reduce manual work within team, improve controls, quality of information.
Ensure that desired internal control is fully maintained at all times through strict adherence to control guidelines/parameters, including Segregation of Duties (SODs). Achieve full compliance with SOX requirements
Resolve issues satisfactorily and on a timely basis
Serve as a senior point-of contact for issues or matters for resolution
Serve as a point of contact for internal audit and external/statutory audits
Be a process lead/owner for General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Reconciliation process for Asia Pacific
Be actively involved in the development of process model for process transformation activities
Participate/ lead the testing of the agreed design and deployment of the transformation of the services that would be owned in the Shared Services.
CPA / Bachelor Degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent
At least 8 years experience in Accounting with focus on Closing process (Inventory Provision and Revenue Reserves) in an MNC , within Apparel/Retail industry with SAP experience.
Audit experience in a CA/CPA firm with US GAAP hands-on.
Solid understanding of SOX requirements and internal controls
