Job Description

It shall be the responsibility of QA Manager to understand and perform below (but not limited to) functions

  • Directs and coordinates all activities of the quality management function in the plant and its interface with other functions in the company

  • Establishes and maintains quality assurance standard procedures, methods, facility and equipment to meet customer requirements.

  • Establishes and maintains customer relation programs in plant matters relating to quality.

  • Directs and implements quality training and development programs to maintain the competence and technical skills required for the effective performance of the plant Quality Assurance Department.

  • Handle complaints from customers and ensure satisfactory solutions are obtained for both customers and the Company. Manage and responsible for prevention action after recall/ revoke.

  • Establishes and analyzes quality areas, including quality goals, quality problems, defective materials, claims and customer quality problems. Advises plant management and the Production Department of the results of such analysis.

  • Establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence that will discourage third party interference or establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence with employees, their union steward, and representatives which will promote achievement of plant and company goals.

  • Initiates, reviews, masters, and follows all SOPs for QA Managerís areas of responsibility.

  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.

  • Maintains awareness and complies with hazardous waste management and other environmental management requirements in the workplace by attending scheduled training sessions.

  • Communicates with the Emergency Coordinator (EC) and/or the Environmental Focal Point/ Environmental Manager (EFP/EM),or designated responsible person/people regarding environmental management activities.

  • Recognizes waste streams and minimizes waste generation, through prudent use of materials, proper disposal and segregation as directed during training or by the EC and/or EFP/EM. Understands and practices proper accumulation and storage requirements for wastes.

  • Understands and responds effectively to the EC instructions during emergencies by being familiar with emergency procedures, equipment, and systems, as necessary. Implements contingency plan to the level required by the position.

  • Understands, completes, and maintains environmental documentation for which the individual is trained, or as directed by the EC, EFP or EM (i.e., inspections, labeling, record keeping, maintenance of equipment, etc.). Maintain 2-way communications with the EC, EFP or EM on the status of assigned responsibilities.

  • Oversees the application and administration of the Infinity system within the plant.

  • Works with material suppliers on quality issues and cost reductions.

  • Administers customer and vendor claim reimbursement systems.

  • Performs leaker awareness training at the customer level.

  • Assist the QMR in his/her responsibilities:

    • To ensure all processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented and maintained

    • To report to top management on the performance of the Quality Management System and any need for improvement

    • To ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization

  • Performs those administrative activities necessary for effective management, including provision for selection and development of employees, salary administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling, motivation, meeting objectives, planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the organization.

  • Assures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety rules and regulations.

  • It is the essential function of the job that the individual will not be a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves, others, or property. Direct threat is defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.

  • Must follow company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in Multinational Company manuals.

  • To make sure and supervise all activities of contractors, on cleaning, food safety, health & environment; and security would be in safe and effective.

  • Update regulation and law related to management field

  • Update all relevant legislative requirements in the country of manufacture and where known. The country in which the cans will be sold in term of product safety.

  • Performs other individual assignments as management may direct.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelorís Degree in a Technical Discipline

  • At least 5 years of experience with Quality in a manufacturing environment with evidence of increased responsibility and leadership. Prior experience as a Quality Manager is required.

  • Thorough knowledge and experience with ISO 9001 and/or other Quality Management Systems. Lead Auditor certification is preferable

  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Statistics Engineering and its application (e.g. Statistical Process Control). Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certified with practical project experience is preferable.

  • Proven working knowledge of the following areas: company policies, procedures, and products; quality assurance principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures; generally accepted managerial practices and procedures; business principles, legal practices, customer needs and expectations.

  • †Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant quality assurance techniques, procedures, and criteria.

  • Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.

  • Ability to work independently within parameters set by management

  • Ability to negotiate with customers to promote or sell ideas or concepts

  • Communication. Ability to communicate effectively, write effectively, read, comprehend, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions.
