Based in Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan Province), the GM is responsible for the entire hotel operations. Her/his scope of responsibilities covers the financial results (revenues, cost of sales, payroll & related expenses, other expenses, departmental incomes, gross operating income (if notified), cash flow, new & replacement investments), adherence to standards of product and service, management of human resources, and Sales & Marketing strategy.
Main tasks include:
- Planning and organizing hotel services, promoting the business
- Managing budgets and financial plans and controlling expenditure
- Setting and achieving sales and profit targets
- Ensuring the development of a realistic and attainable strategic business plan that defines operational goals and profitability objectives
- Leading, through subordinate staff, the effective management of the functional areas to maximize financial performance while upholding quality standards and maximizing levels of guest satisfaction
- Planning work schedules for individuals and teams
- Creating an operating environment to assures that consistent guest satisfaction
- Dealing with customer complaints and comments
- Addressing problems and troubleshooting
- Supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings
- Dealing with contractors and suppliers
- Ensuring security is effective
- Carrying out inspections of property and services
- Setting an example for all staffs to deliver a standard of service and presentation that meets guests' needs and expectations
- Coordinating capital improvement projects to maintain/upgrade quality standards and property image, and to protect assets from neglect, damage or deterioration
- Conducting regular staff and employee meetings
- Understanding the government regulations affecting hotel operations, ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
