Our Client has been established for the past 50 years and has now become one of the worldís largest and most respected NGOs with many successful conservation projects throughout the world. The Greater Mekong regional office has been in operation for the past 23 years with country offices in five countries. Following a strong track record of conservation delivery, our client has established both credibility and presence to deliver conservation impact at all levels from provincial, to national to regional. Our client has embarked on an aggressive strategic plan and therefore is seeking a strong Country Director to head up the Myanmar operations.
The Country Director will report to the Expatriate Greater Mekong Regional Representative and will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of our clientís strategic plan here in Thailand. This will involve managing all activities of the country program relating to conservation, fundraising, policy advocacy, finance management, human resources management and communication activities. The main responsibilities will involve being a major part of the regional management team by providing effective input into the development of the organization. He or she will need to ensure strategic engagement and partnership-building as well as networking to implement fundraising strategies. The Country Director will lead the strategic development and implementation of the conservation and operation plan, this will include policies, constituencies, and civil society. He or she will oversee and manage the risks and crises when necessary and recommend to the representative any changes that might be required to develop the organization. In addition, he or she will monitor, evaluate and report all aspects of the program and operation and report back to the representative as required.
The successful candidate will be educated to the masterís degree level or higher in business administration or a related field. He or she will have 7 years of experience in a leadership and management position, 3 years of which should be within the Greater Mekong region preferably in Myanmar with a demonstrated success in managing multi-cultural teams. The successful candidate will need experience in developing, implementing and evaluating strategic plans and have proven operational management experience within international NGOís or corporate sectors. He or she will need experience of working and negotiating with government officials and/or donors at all levels and working with key regional and international institutions.
