Job Description

Role of the Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will directly manage the network of O-We franchisees. His/her main target will be to ensure the expansion of the O-We network and its performance to match business and social targets overtime. This position is also focused on overseeing and managing all other operational aspects of O-We Vietnam on a day-to-day basis. The Operations Manager will directly be involved in all company activities, leading from the front, with a can-do attitude. In order to carry out these responsibilities, the Operations Manager will need to spend extensive time on the field with the O-We franchisees. He will report directly to the Executive Director.
 
Main Missions
 
  • O-We network expansion
    • Identify new potential franchisees and manage the pipeline
    • Conduct relevant due diligences (business, HR and technical with engineering team)
    • Conduct negotiations with franchisees until contracts closing
    • Lead the water kiosks transformation and retrofitting plan to become O-We franchisees
    • Recruit and manage a team of business advisors in charge of network expansion
  • O-We network management
    • Measure efficiency of current processes at franchisee level and optimize them
    • Provide on-going support to franchisees to ensure their business and social performance
    • Ensure the daily relationships with O-We franchisees as O-We single point of contract
    • Ensure trainings of franchisees on key operational aspects (logistics, order to cash…)
    • Define, implement and follow a consumables purchase process between franchisees and O-We
    • Define, implement and follow the reporting of key data with franchisees (quality, admin, finance)
    • Ensure the collection of the monthly franchise fees with the support of the finance team
    • Integrate IT solutions in various operational areas (consumables, management, finance…)
    • Recruit and manage a team of business advisors in charge of network animation on the field
  • Structuration of the O-We franchise offer
    • Define a “O-We franchise journey” with a clarified recruitment & follow-up methodology
    • Support the CEO and management team to reinforce the O-We offer with stronger methods
    • Define the O-We operational best practices to optimize franchisees performance overtime
    • Translate these best practices in concrete and practical trainings toolkits and manuals
    • Ensure the trainings and evaluation of franchisees on these operational best practices
  • Company scale-up: bring O-We to the next level
    • Develop a purchasing strategy and set-up reliable domestic / international suppliers for all inputs
    • Oversee and manage the supply chain strategy, operations and staff
    • Actively participate in the definition of the long term strategy with CEO & managing team
    • Support financial planning efforts, including budgeting, forecasting and P&L analysis
    • Work on strategic partnerships with other international organizations
    • Builds and executes a Key Opinion Leaders strategy to improve O-We local license to operate
    • Participates to the recruitment of the O-We 2020 team

Job Requirements

Work Location
  • Willingness to spend extensive time on the field is required.
  • Travel: Up to 80% time spent in Vĩnh Long Province. 20% in other Mekong Delta provinces.
  • Location: Based in Vĩnh Long City, Mekong Delta Region, Can Tho with weekly commuting to Vĩnh Long is negotiable
Professional qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in business in an emerging market context
  • Strong business & operations management experience
  • Experience both as a strategic leader and hands-on manager
  • Successfully managed people at all levels and from varied backgrounds and cultures
  • Very comfortable with managing planning and short deadlines (GANTT diagram, MS Project)
  • Good understanding and knowledge on logistics and purchasing departments duties
  • Experience working to develop a franchise network is a very strong plus
  • Experience working in South Vietnam and preferably in the Mekong Delta region
Required competencies
  • Can-do attitude, feels excited with a blank page of paper and a large room to maneuver
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and easiness to interact with other people
  • A capacity to interact with various kind of people with different social and education backgrounds
  • Process driven mindset feeling happy to structure and formalize practices for higher efficiency
  • Feel comfortable with intense workload and extensive travels
  • Actively demonstrate a match with O-We values (family, persistent, field-driven, accountable, fun)
  • Good communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
