Job Description

The Strategic Planning Director is the practitioner and keeper of our strategic ambition of “Transforming Brand Equity Into Brand Action”.
As the strategic lead, you will partner both account and creative leadership, and be the highly visible face of strategy on a client’s business. The Strategic Planning Director is expected to be an inspirational thinker, a practiced collaborator and a positive leader.

Our largest Client, and the major focus for this role is British American Tobacco in Viet Nam and Cambodia, where we are responsible for all brands (local and international) strategic planning, brand communication and shopper marketing; from 1-2-1 and digital platforms to multi-channel trade and shopper comms & programmes.
The Strategic Planning Director will also be responsible for the strategic leadership of AB InBev in Viet Nam for Budweiser and Beck’s, for brand activation in core shopper channels, both On and Off-Trade.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience overall, with the majority being in communications, preferably in brand activation and advertising
  • 3+ years of experience within the tobacco industry
  • The presence to capture and hold a room
  • The interpersonal skills to inspire and improve the work of those around them
  • A curiosity in the world and people around them, actively seeking out insights and human behaviours
  • A clear comfort level with using data as a tool for creative inspiration
  • Superb communication and storytelling skills
  • The ability to smartly tap into and apply the context of this part of the world that we live in
  • The experience in and/or the command of ALL the ways brands connect with people in today’s world – traditional, digital, events, activation etc.
  • A respectful but provocative attitude, always questioning and pushing thinking, knowing when simple solutions outweigh complex ones
