The commercial and technical preparation of tenders under the supervision of a Department Manager or Commercial Manager
The management of projects and subcontractors both in Hong Kong, and the Asia Pacific region
Ensuring commitments to clients are met safely, on time, accurately, and within budget
Providing leadership in the instrumentation department, mentoring staff and setting examples consistent with exemplary ethical, health and safety, and professional standards
Job Requirements
Minimum 10 years’ specific experience of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring projects, of which at least 5 years has been spent in a tendering and project management role.
A good appreciation of the assessment, and mitigation, of commercial, security, operational and contractual risks
A good understanding of contract fundamentals.
Some degree of exposure to other Fugro business streams e.g. onshore/nearshore site investigation, engineering geophysics, foundation testing is advantageous.
Effective verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to mentor others.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to identify and resolve conflict among project teams, direct reports, and with clients.
Ability to competently and professionally present project materials in client meetings, including identifying and mitigating client concerns.
Ability to work independently and within teams as Team Leader and Project Manager.
Activities include both field and office environments.
Mainly based in Hong Kong, but likely to include travel within the Asia Pacific region, including possible long-term assignments.
Good written and spoken English language ability; the ability to read / speak Chinese (Cantonese) is desirable, but not essential.
BSc degree in Civil, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Surveying, Electronics Engineering, Applied Physics or other relevant subject, from accredited college or university. Candidates with lesser qualifications but significant relevant experience will also be considered.
