The Senior Product Owner is responsible for bridging the gap between our Vietnam Research and Development Center and our global customer-facing product management team. They must develop a strong understanding of our clients and the market environment and pass this understanding onto our offshore delivery team. They would be based in the Ho Chi Minh office but should expect to travel internationally for up to 3-6 months of the year.
Essential Job Functions
Function as a Senior Product Owner in Agile environment.
Understands business objectives, while considering needs and objectives of external stakeholders.
Keeping products aligned with business goals.
Researching business requirements, including competition, other SaaS offerings, and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
Work with senior management to create product plans and product roadmaps.
Writing business requirements, workflow diagrams and user stories with acceptance criteria for developers and testers to follow in JIRA.
Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of complex data.
Recommend solutions or improvements to expand product base that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.
Works with team to improve development process.
Delivers clear instruction to developers.
Work closely with the Tech Leads to manage scrum ceremonies including grooming, sprint planning, sprint burn down and retrospectives.
Evaluate product progress.
Coordinate with sales, marketing and training departments to ensure go to market tasks are managed effectively.
Partner with users to determine their needs and use cases in order to define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements.
Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines using effective organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail.
Manage remote tele and video-conferencing working calls. Note that these will likely occur out of regular business working hours, depending on travel
Degree or equivalent work experience of 4 years in a related field to technology, business analysis. Plus 2+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst for a mid-to-large sized organization, direct consulting experience leading sales and marketing transformation projects, or relevant experience.
A minimum of 3 years working as a Product Owner in partnership with a delivery team using Scrum.
Ability to travel regularly and for long periods of time to the US without significant visa restrictions. This position is open to applications globally.
Organizational and leadership abilities including experience influencing cross-functional teams successfully.
Proven experience with writing concise and effective User Stories that will be used by developers.
Strong requirements gathering for product development projects by conducting interviews, work flow analysis, and process analysis.
Experience working with development and quality assurance to ensure they understand requirements, logical flows, test plans, etc.
Experience with facilitating and clarifying customer business needs and translating them into business and functional requirements.
Familiarity with Agile framework. Ability to foster Agile principles and methods for requirement gathering, planning/grooming meetings and daily stand-ups.
Fluency in verbal and written English equivalent to native speaker.
Excellent communication skills. Both written and verbal.
Strong English technical writing skills.
Exceptional organizational and problem solving/analytical skills.
Effective negotiation and collaboration skills.
Must be competent with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
Must be able to work autonomously without a lot of day to day direction.
