Job Description

Key areas

  • Responsibility for Project management according to Company ‘PR’ project responsible and ‘PM’ Project Manager roles as required.

  • Delivers projects on time, within budget and fit for purpose

  • Optimisation and improvement

  • Management of internal and external resources

  • Deliver feasibility studies and plant design concepts for strategic projects – objective lowest cost fit for purpose

  • Development of Basic Design und Basic Engineering (for presentation of investment decisions)

  • Management of Detailed Engineering, Construction and Commissioning for approved projects


 

Process optimisation

  •   Draw up of comprehensive site concepts (site development plans, site infrastructure, site logistic, process and utilities, site analysis / evaluation)

  •   Optimising of process steps and plants relating to safety, health and environmental protection, economy and product quality

  •  Evaluating and exploiting of technical experience from operating plants and technological development

  •  Analysing of process technical weak points

  •  Develop alternatives of process steps, apparatus and machinery

  •  Drawing up of process technical specification of plants and process documentation

  •  Optimisation of plant logistics

  •  Cooperation for establishing of DCS/Automation concepts

  •  Cooperation of concept design for new plants


 

New plant

  •  Preparing and specifying of investment projects (OPEX/CAPEX)

  •  Drawing up of Capex plans and budgets (scope, costs, schedule)

  •  Basic Design and Basic Engineering of projects

  •  Preparing of capital expenditure proposal (CEP/REP) for approval

  •   Execution (realisation) of projects incl. preparation of permit document, safety analysis, detailed Engineering, Construction and handover.

  •   Participation of milestone meeting (e.g. project process and SHE)

  •   Management of investment projects (e.g. planning, construction, costs, schedule)

  •    Support for procurement and commissioning

  •    Claim management of projects (e.g. change order)


 

 

Projectmanagement

  • Responsibility for Project management according to Company ‘PR’ project responsible and ‘PM’ Project Manager role as required.

  •  Delivers projects on time, within budget and fit for purpose

  • Take counter measures as required to ensure success of project


 

Leading of project teams

  • Optimal use technical engineering tools

  • Development of subordinated colleagues within project teams

  • Managing external engineering contractors


 

Examination/Releases

  •  According signiture procedure of Company

  • According company guidelines and procedures (e.g. capex procedure and project procedure)


 

 

 

Non delegable tasks

  •  Guiding of project resources (internal and external) in compliance with law, regulation and company policies

  •   All engineering tasks for fulfilment of legal requirements and Company standards/policy related to plant safety, work safety, environment protection and safe usage of products during project phase

  •   Collaboration for drawing up and continuing of submission documents for permits, safety analysis, authority approval etc.

  •   Open and effective communication with all stakeholders

  •    PM/PR responsibilities


Delegable tasks

  •  Day to day activities associated with project control

  •  Coordination between plant management and external engineering department / contractors

  •  Further development of process and manufacturing technologies

  • Development of concepts and realisation of technological changes

Job Requirements


  • Education: Professional or Chartered Engineer. Process

  • Engineering, Chemical Engineering, EIC or Mechanical Engineering,

  • Required experience:    5-10 years in chemical/process industry with relevant project management experience

  • Special skills:      Project management in chemical/process industry, plant engineering and construction. Functional project

  • Engineering. SHE management.

  • Fluent in English with technical bias (oral and written)

  • Team spirit and flexibility

  • Leadership in position (Competency, quality, actions)

  • Communication open and effective

  • Motivation and Energy to deliver and improve

  • Mobility for projects in Europe or Asia, ideally for both
