Job Description

  • Ensure the timely implementation of projects with the highest level of quality, impact and sustainability.
  • Assist the Health Program Manager to ensure projects have the resources needed in timely manner.
  • Ensure that the program remains on target towards accomplishing project objectives, in accordance with MTI Project Cycle Management standards and requirements.
  • Recruit, hire, and mentor local MCH project staff; ensure that staff receive adequate training to fulfill job requirements
  • Serve as the primary manager to implement, monitor, & report upon the achievement of program objectives and provide assistance to MCH staff.
  • Supervise MTI ? Cambodia MCH Project staff.
  • Establish collegial, mutually beneficial relationships, and share knowledge and expertise within the MCH network and Oddar Meanchey Province health staff.
  • Communicate consistently with key stakeholders.
  • Keep a master schedule of all MCH activities and track progress against plans.
  • Responsible for the request, efficient management/usage of, and reporting of project funds
  • Oversee the development and management of the health information system and all project data.
  • Ensure that project interventions foster approaches that encourage sustained inputs from communities and the public health system.
  • Contribute to writing of the implementation plan, interim reports, midterm and final evaluations.
  • Maintain standards and procedures for project staff, establishing new ones with country management as necessary.
  • Coordinate the preparation of training curriculum and materials and the training of community and health workers
  • Remain current in best project management practices.
  • Liaise regularly with Finance for project reporting / auditing, with the Program Quality staff, and with the Operations Manager.
  • Other duties as required by Country Manager or Operations Manager 

Job Requirements

  • Cambodia national strongly preferred
  • Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Medical Teams International.
  • Professional?level of Medical health background, secondary midwife/Nurse, Medical Assistant Medical Doctor or MPH degree and experience health project management background.
  • At least two years successful experience managing health programs in developing countries.
  • 3?5 years experiences working for an NGO within the health sector in Cambodia
  • Experience in interfacing with Provincial Health personnel, partners, volunteers, NGOs, and Experience in staff and budget management
  • Fluent English speaker; strong writing skills.
  • Organizational and human resource management experience.
  • Excellent problem solver, a self?starter, ability to work independently; functions well in a multi?task environment.
  • Comfortable working and living in a rural setting
