Manage the overall underwriting activities to ensure the effective functionality and high integrity of the operation.
Underwrite cases with given authorities.
Set up and review underwriting guidelines for different insurance product in order to maintain the competitiveness in the market.
Construct the underwriting procedures manual for internal use and develop another set of operation manual for facilitating the sales process.
Control the new business operations by reviewing the management report and provide analytical reports to management periodically on departmental projects.
Review the new product specifications provided by Actuarial Department, assist in new product design in the aspects of underwriting, establish and confirm underwriting rules and procedures during launching period.
Design different application forms, which facilitate the sales process for both branch and telemarking channels.
Provide professional advice to PAD, Claims and CS section on the aspects of underwriting decisions.
Conduct underwriting internal review to ensure the highest level of sound decisions and that are in accordance with the company’s established guidelines.
Review the workflow constantly to ensure the compliance of external audit requirement.
Manage the underwriting UAT (User Acceptance Test) job and ensure the quality of all product testing and submit underwriting requirement to IT for system development.
Monitor the BCP of underwriting and review the process periodically firstly to ensure its efficiency and effectiveness and secondly to ensure the contingency plan is in place at all times.
Maintain the standard of service level agreement for the whole process of underwriting including new business and pending cases.
Handle unusual enquires from Sales and other departments and make appropriate decisions and /or make recommendations to Superiors.
Liaise with reinsurers on the constant change of underwriting requirements in order to maintain competitiveness in the industry.
Minimum 10 years’ underwriting experience in life/health insurance industry.
Medical authority with Extra Mortality 200% or above
Hands on PC skills in using MS Word (English and Chinese) and Excel
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good command of written & spoken Vietnamese and professional working proficiency for English.
Preferred: Project management skill, knowledge of administration system.
Preferred: to hold life insurance professional qualification. e.g. LOMA, ICA,…etc.
