Our client is seeking a senior communications professional with relevant work experience to drive the overall communications strategy in the Asia Pacific region, which includes all key countries in the region with the exception of China. To succeed in this role, you'll need a solid understanding of the regional media landscape – both in traditional and social media -- and bring a successful track record in creating and executing innovative, cut-through communications strategies on a regional scale.
The job requires a broad business understanding, superior writing and media relations skills, and the ability to act as a strategic consultant to the regional management team. You will work in tight co-operation with marketing to ensure continued momentum of new product announcements that drive positive media and consumer perception. As the head of Communications in Asia-Pacific, you will serve as a corporate spokesperson and the first point of contact for local and regional issues and change management.
The successful candidate will lead a team of communications professionals focused in key markets in the region, including Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam among others. In this role, the client is looking for a dynamic and inspirational leader who will dedicate time and energy in coaching a team of professionals to reach their maximum potential.
On an operational level, you will be responsible for planning and managing the regional communications budget and playing an active role in guiding PR agency partners. You will be expected to bring an innovative approach to develop and drive the company’s message to external media audiences and internal stakeholders. You will be actively involved in day-to-day communications operations, monitoring communications program progress at the sales unit level ensuring constant improvement with suitable course correction when needed.
This position will report directly to the Vice President, Media Relations (based in Europe) and in close collaboration with the Head of Communications, China. You will provide strategic counsel on internal and external communications, as well as factory communications. You will also be called upon to provide regional insights and perspective to the Communications Leadership Team.
Close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, HR, and other internal stakeholders is required.
