Job Description

The Company

The company is a Myanmar conglomerate enjoying market leadership in several of its core lines of business comprising FMCG, Retail, F&B and Agro-Chemicals whilst a sizeable land bank and additional business opportunities are also assisting growth of its Real Estate aspirations too. The progressive thrust of the firm to capitalize upon the huge economic upswing of Myanmar, translates to a desire to appoint experienced, senior-level leaders for each of its key business clusters with the objective of raising performance to international standards. This also extends to its Corporate Management team and a current requirement to appoint an internationally seasoned HR professional as Group HRD. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term and pioneering role within a fast-expanding market whilst acting as an agent of change to craft a superior level of performance.

The Position

Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with multiple HODs, the appointed individual will develop HR strategies, policies and framework whilst collaborating with the Business Units to align operational and business functions. The HRD will lead and shape all critical aspects of HR including organisational development, leadership development, compensation and benefits and the development of operational SOPs. This is an exciting opportunity to become an influential agent of change, driving Group-wide transformation with the establishment of HR best practice. Given the rapid growth of the organization, there will also be a need to nimbly undertake ad-hoc projects including the support and integration of new business lines that emerge through organic growth as well as via M&A or Joint Ventures.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will need to offer at least 10-15 years’ of relevant senior-level HR experience and which, ideally, may have included exposure to FMCG, Retail, Distribution and/or Manufacturing operations. Moreover, prior experience establishing an HR department whilst integrating this into multiple lines of business would be advantageous.
