Job Description

The candidate will report directly to the AVP / Head, BTMA and will be responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring the training and development processes and systems as per Group Standards, ensuring the competency of property learning department leader to support business strategies and growth, supporting company talent development programs by aligning corporate and property learning and development initiatives and sharing best practices

Job Description:
  • Design and implement training and development processes and systems in alignment with company vision, mission, core values, culture, brand positioning, quality standards and BTMA people development framework
  • Develop informal and formal solutions and training programs to meet BTHR organization needs, analyze the most appropriate strategies, methodologies and technologies to maximize the learning experience and impact
  • Design and develop core modules to include a detailed facilitator guide, participant workbook, evaluation tool for proper implementation of each core program i.e. Service Excellence, etc. and monitor effectiveness of training delivery. Ensure correct message is communicated while empower property Learning Manager to initiate and deliver in best suited style. Maintain the facilitator guide and other training materials in BTHR key languages
  • Keep content up to date for basic programs such as BTHR Orientation, IDEALS, Banyan Root, etc. and ensure quality of new associate on-boarding training and familiarization programs
  • Conduct orientation and key certification program for new Learning Manager
  • Ensure the enhancement of individual learning leader’s competencies in terms of ADDIE
  • Provide guidelines and support property learning department leader to conduct property training needs analysis, annual training plan and budget. Monitor the progress of property training implementation through mid-year and year-end review, suggest appropriate actions as and when required
  • Promote group-wide performance improvement, service excellence and quality achievement through innovative learning and development programs
  • Oversee the various phases of pre-opening training for new hotels as well as schedule delivery of each phase
  • Operate a continually updated Training Needs Analysis using various data analysis i.e. guest feedback form, Revinate, mystery shopper, etc.
  • Support in preparing workshops and other talent development activities conducted by BTMA
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of trend in training and development, specifically where these directly affect the hospitality industry. Make recommendation to further improve training and development platforms, techniques, or methodologies to keep BTHR ahead of general hospitality industry
  • Instills/broadens the understanding of the Group’s Mission Statement and core values (IDEALS) amongst all associates, sets the example for professional quality standards, communication, ethics, works habits and practices and productivity
  • Contributes to the morale and team spirit within the business unit by building and maintaining supportive and effective relationships with managers and associates
  • Meets, on a regular basis, with the team to thoroughly review the operations and results
  • Is polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of BTHR/BTMA is represented
  • Coaches, counsels, and develops BTMA associates

Job Requirements

  • College degree, diploma or higher qualification
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant exposure
  • Ability to express effective, clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Good interpersonal skills, leadership, organizational and communication skills
  • Able to document standards of performance
  • Moving the Group’s Learning to align with the Group’s overall strategies
  • Possess a passion for developing people and a can-do attitude
  • Dynamic, inspiring, innovative, enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Easily approachable with an outgoing and pleasant personality
  • Able to effectively facilitate both small and large groups
  • Able to prioritize and maintain objectivity
  • Good team player
  • Hard working, able to withstand a very fast paced working environment, enroll and complete projects on his/her own
  • Highly customer and result oriented
  • Understanding of large, multi-cultural organizations
  • Position will be based in Phuket, Thailand
