Job Description

Position: General Manager (Automotive Plant)
Based: Rayong

Our client is the leading provider of anti-vibration solutions for the global automotive and commercial vehicle industries. They have established more than 50 years ago with 45 locations around the world with total 10,000 employees. They are now expanding their global presence with a new production site in Rayong, Thailand. They are currently looking for a General Manager who will be responsible for setting up a new facility, setting up a new management team and presenting their products in Asia.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Establishment of a new production facility and implementation of a fully operating organization for procurement, supply chain management, R&D, and quality control
  • Management of the initial phase (start-of-production including sample manufacturing, quality acceptance, and routine running of production) as well as long-term expansion
  • Ensure liquidity and proper accounting (cash flow management and tight cost control)
  • Liaison between the Headquarter and the Thailand production facility (technical and engineering interface)
  • Business development: Diversification of products and markets (Asian region)
  • Enforcement of specifications with regard to costs (C), quality (Q), environmental production and occupational safety (EP&OS) and schedules (S)
  • Adherence to relevant official and legal requirements
  • Safeguarding and expansion of the Asian customer base and business dealings, as well as full capacity utilization of production facilities with existing and new products
  • Transformation of the requirements on the Asian market into new products/solutions (market approach based on business analyses)
  • Implementation of all processes and workflows necessary for smooth production (esp. quality assurance)
  • Daily operational management including sales, production, HR and finance
  • Management and leadership of all departments and employees under his/her responsibility
  • Representation of company to partners and to the public
  • Control and manage P/L for the company
  • Lead to set up a new plant in Rayong.
  • Monitor and control the business production, quality and operations, sales, and HR.
  • Make sure the production is lean and effective according to Automotive standards.
  • In charge of recruiting a new management team together with the head Quarter.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations.
  • Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop short term and long term plans for the company.

Job Requirements

 Requirements
  • Expat or Thai who understand Thai working cultures.
  • Speaking German is preferred.
  • Male/Female 35-55 years old
  • Bachelor Degree in any field at least, MBA or Master Degree is a plus
  • 10-15 years of experience in management levels in Automotive manufacturing environment (Operations) or sales-oriented functions, Understanding of B2B Business.
  • Very strong Leadership and People Management skills.
  • Driving for Results, Dynamics,
  • Fluency in English.
