Job Description

The Responsibilities:
  • Formulates and implements the departmentís work programs; provides the general direction and motivation to staff.
  • Supervises the administration of the Foundationís management reporting and accounting systems. Regularly reviews the systemís effectiveness and, where necessary, recommends improvements thereon.
  • Analyzes and interprets the Foundationís results of operations and financial position.  Provides monthly and year-end financial highlights for use of the Group Director in Board and Executive Committee meetings.
  • Formulates and monitors the implementation of the Foundationís guidelines and policies for effective cash management.
  • Represents the Foundation in financial and tax matters to ensure overall compliance with financial management and reporting requirements of donors, government agencies and other clientele.
  • Coordinates with the auditor/s in the external audit of the institutional and program accounts of the Foundation for timely completion of audit and disposition of findings.
  • Provides assistance to the Group Director in internal financial reviews for the formulation of budgeting framework, parameters, guidelines and policies.
  • Prepares, analyzes, monitors and endorses the Foundationís units and master/-consolidated budget.
  • Coordinates with the Group Director and trustee banks in evaluating the performance of trust accounts in relation to the attainment of the Foundationís income targets and in the update on market trends/conditions, interest rates, foreign exchange rates and other relevant information to ensure the effectiveness of investment strategies.
  • Recommends to the Group Director the hiring, training, promotion, transfers or separation of Finance staff, in coordination with HRD plans for the unitís staff development program.
  • Acts as Resource Person/trainor/consultant to PBSP and its clients in his/her area of specialization.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Group Director from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Education:                             
A degree in the field of Accounting; Certified Public Accountant, with post-graduate degree in any related field
  • Experience:
?At least 4 yearsí experience in Finance in a supervisory/ managerial capacity, preferably in a similar organization.
  • Other/Special Skills:
Use of microcomputers utilizing softwares with spreadsheet capabilities and finance applications; analytical ability in project financial appraisal and evaluation.
