Job Description

Our client is an iconic multinational provider of Global Freight, Transport Solutions and 3PL Warehousing with a strong presence in the Asia Region and globally. With a strong asset base, a high customer focus and a 'can do' attitude they have built their business on the respect and loyalty of their customers and staff.

They are seeking to hire an experienced, proactive and enthusiastic Director, Regional Business Development (Asia Pacific) to join their Sales Leadership team. 

Reporting to the SVP, Sales & Marketing APAC, you will be expected to actively develop professional, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, promoting the company and its services, whilst managing the commercial pipeline, target activity and sales strategy.

This Hunter sales role’s primary purpose is the sales and marketing of Freight Forwarding, Transport and Contract Logistics services across targeted sectors throughout Asia Pacific. This includes the execution / management of cradle to grave customer relationship management, coordinating all business development activities across the full suite of supply chain services – freight, transport, warehousing, distribution and inventory management.

As the commercial face of the business, you will lead from the front in instigating customer engagement to introduce and explore innovate, leading edge freight forwarding and logistics service solutions, driving global relationships.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10-12 years senior level international supply chain and freight forwarding Sales Management within the Asia Pacific or South East Asia regions.
  • Demonstrated hands on operational experience and knowledge of Logistics Services, Warehousing, Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Materials Handling and Logistics Technology systems / tools.
  • Broad understanding of integrated supply chain best practice, information systems and tools.
  • Excellent project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and an able to initiate senior management meetings and lead from the front in the marketplace.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across functional lines.
  • Ability to travel
