Job Description

TECHNICAL
  • Is responsible for the quality of the product.
  • Controls technique applications by the staff.
  • Chooses the suppliers.
  • Has the staff adhere to the product spirit and follows up
  • Is responsible for the application of the inspection norms established by the HQ.
  • Is responsible for the sales prices policy.
  • Establishes the operating budget and financial forecast which he negotiates with his Director of Operations in the Region.
  • Optimizes the operating profit by permanent control of every account of the statement.
  • Specially cares towards the cash flow by keeping the account receivable as low as possible as well as a mini-mum stock.
  • Proposes each year an investment program and justifies his options
  • Provides in due course all legal and internal documents.
  • Keeps in proper shape all permanent assets of the cruises/ boats by a regular maintenance program and the forecast of investments described in the budget and submitted to the Director of Operations
  • Keeps in perfect functioning shape all equipment by establishing a preventive maintenance program.
  • Is responsible for the application of security and maintenance policies.
  • Looks into decoration aspects of the cruises in order to create a pleasant atmosphere for the customers keeping in mind the product spirit and in coordination with the advice services of the technical management.
ADMINISTRATIVE & LEGAL
  • Is responsible of documents (books, staff, salaries, medical, labor inspection, security controls, foreign manpower etc.)
  • Is responsible for submitting in due course all accounting documents of the cruises. They should be accurate and properly kept.
  • Is responsible for the application of laws on the fields of process, human being security and safety, labor, protection of customers, etc.
  • Is responsible for maintaining all administrative procedures.
HUMAN RESOURCE
  • Is responsible for the staff turnover planning, recruitment of head of departments and all the employees.
  • Is in charge of the evolution of the career of his subordinates.
  • Defines job descriptions and sets goals to each head of department.
  • Is responsible for adhering to the salaries policies set on a regional basis.
  • Decides rewards, sanctions and dismissals.
  • Organizes appraisal and assessment meetings with the head of departments
  • Ensures that the information flow reaches all levels of hierarchy quantitatively and qualitatively
  • Organizes regularly staff information meetings during which everybody can talk.
  • Looks carefully into the good coordination between all departments.
  • Develops creativity and participation among his team.
  • Set objectives and monitor key performance indicators regarding, Rehabilitation and Environmental performance.
  • Responsible for the safety of employees, contractors & guests.
  • Ensure that the safety policy and procedures are effectively communicated to all employees and contractors.
  • Ensure induction and departmental or job specific training is provided for all employees.
  • Ensure that safety procedures and other safety information is complied with.
  • Ensure that safety issues are resolved in consultation with employees.
  • Ensure induction and department or job specific training is provided for all employees, contractors and volunteers.
  • Ensure that Department Safety Procedures and other safety information are prepared and complied with.
  • Ensure that Department safety plans are developed in consultation with employees.
  • Organizational accountabilities reflect these responsibilities.
COMMERCIAL
  • Is responsible for the development of the business potential which he can do with the help of the regional sales department and defines the targets.
  • Establishes and proposes to the Head Office a marketing plan. Sees that it is enforced.
  • Acts as the public relation of the group on the local market.
  • In cooperation with the Director of Sales & Marketing, elaborates sales & marketing strategies.
  • Does the commercial correspondence and answers the written complaints and informs the Director of Operations is responsible for the guestís reception; guest satisfaction and plays an important part in it.

Job Requirements

  • Work Location: Ha Long, Vietnam
  • Foreigner or Vietnamese
  • Must have cruise boat experience and preferably in a senior management role
  • This is a hand on role - not an office sitting role
  • Pre-Opening experience is desirable
  • A proven ability to lead a team of local people to success and the ability to achieve desired outcomes and objectives
  • Knowledge of Sales and Marketing concepts, practices and structures would be an advantage.
  • Strong financial understanding (Revenues, costs etc...) is a definite advantage.
