Job Description

As the Country Manager of Phoenix Contact Thailand, you will oversee the company’s operation and be responsible for business growth and profitability of the Thailand office. You will develop and implement strategic plans to advance the company’s mission and objectives, and to insure company efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the company’s operations to insure company efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for organization and business growth.
  • Ensure that the company’s operational procedures, policies and standards are adhered to and comply with the country’s legal and regulating requirement.
  • Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
  • Lead the staff team with the development of long term plans, evaluate the plans along the way and make necessary decision to achieve corporate goals as established by the management in headquarter.
  • Provide flexible support for team members and other teams and foster a positive and a motivating environment.
  • Responsible for the management of human resources (recruitment, dismissal or retrenchment, remuneration etc) of the company and ensure that all procedures fully conform to current laws and regulations.
  • Promote a culture that reflects the company’s value, encourage good performance and reward productivity.
  • Evaluate the performance of staff team for compliance with established objectives and their contributions in attaining objectives.
  • Demonstrate a positive and flexible approach to changing business priorities.
  • Report regularly on sales revenue and office-related activity as required by the management in headquarter.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budget
  • Report to the headquarter on the progress of the short and long term plans, and advice the management on necessary changes to ensure that the plans are in line with the country and company policies.
  • Research and write proposal to assist headquarter management in determining and meeting long and short term goals.
  • Communicate regularly with the headquarter management and other departments in Southeast Asia with regards to strategies, changes in organization or regulation etc.
  • Represent the company at legislative sessions, committee meetings and at formal functions

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification. Additional qualification in Business or Management will be an added advantage
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in industrial electrical component sales.
  • 4 – 5 years of experience in managing and supervising a staff team.
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written.
  • Strong business acumen, results-oriented with outstanding track record of success in business/market development.
  • Experience in strategic planning, and execution and ability to plan forward in driving business growth.
  • Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources with experience in formulating policy, developing/re-engineering strategies and procedures, and implementing them.
  • Effective problem solving and mediation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situation.
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate and interact well with officials at all levels (ie CEO of companies, officer in government bodies etc), and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Fluent with computers and proficient with Windows based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Having the discipline to submit reports and convene or attend meetings on time
  • Forward-thinking and in-line with the latest developments in technologies and digital media.
  • Willing to travel on short notice.

Candidate must be prepared to be stationed in Bangkok, Thailand after a 6 - 12 months on the job training in Singapore office.?
