Oversee all Financial Accounting matters, including maintenance of the general ledger, balance sheet, receipts, payments and payroll requirements
Act as a key part of the Senior Management Team in Country to ensure business/project plan objectives are met in accordance with agreed timescales
Provide high quality and objective scrutiny on MAG’s financial performance against contract and sub contract objectives, including the provision of periodic monitoring reports
Oversee sound delivery of all financial commitments and provision within grant contracts and MoUs
Ensure that appropriate financial oversight and scrutiny is given to the development of new business proposals, taking into consideration statutory, client and HQ requirements
Ensure transparent accounting and cost allocation systems are developed and implemented in accordance with contract and HQ requirements, including the development of financial policies and procedures.
Ensure that the programme delivers and accounts for all activities in accordance with National, Regional and Local taxation requirements (e.g. Income Tax, Social Security, VAT, Corporation Tax etc.)
Line manage your finance team, both within the MAG Vientiane office and remotely in the provinces completing Performance reviews, developing training plans and building capacity.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in financial management with a minimum with a minimum 2 years’experience working within in development sector, preferably with an international humanitarian agency
Experience of financial reporting to external donors and Government of Laos
Experience of reporting and monitoring to tight deadlines
Effective financial management skills
Experience of developing and implement financial policies and procedures
Minimum of 3 years line management experience, including remotely
