Job Description

  • As a Country Development Manager, support our Team in Mongolia and Cambodia in developing their organizations towards our vision for 2020 and you take BOOKBRIDGE to Sri Lanka as our third country. You directly report to the President of BOOKBRIDGE FOUNDATION, who is based in Malaysia. In this role, you can expect to be:
  • Supporting our Country Managers in Mongolia and Cambodia in developing their organizations towards our Vision 2020, through
  • coaching and mentoring them on their challenges at work and individual development needs
  • regular visits to our learning centers in Mongolia and Cambodia and
  • co-developing and following up on the annual goals and budget for our Country Organizations
  • Preparing, conducting and evaluating the expansion of BOOKBRIDGE to Sri Lanka and two more countries by 2020 through
  • feasibility checks for our model on national and local community level
  • establishing and managing partnerships with local scout organizations, government officials, NGOs and businesses
  • recruiting and on-boarding the local team in the startup phase and
  • selecting new countries in Asia for expansion
  • Supporting our Capability Program in defining business challenges and answering requests by candidates
  • Developing the strategic direction of our learning center model in close collaboration with the President of BOOKBRIDGE FOUNDATION

Job Requirements

  • Ideally, you have lived and worked in Asia
  • Project experience in rural communities in Asia
  • High degree of cross-cultural competence and experience in working with people from different cultures "at eye-level"
  • The ability to work alone and at distance with remote supervision
  • Experience in running a business, preferably in education (university degree not required but a plus)
  • Expertise in coaching and mentoring people to reach their goals and deal with change
  • Ability to think and act entrepreneurially as well as work self-responsibly
  • Background or genuine interest in education and social initiatives
  • Ability to work with delegated authorities
  • Expertise in strategic planning, project management and leadership
  • Excellent organization and negotiation skills
  • Good technological skills (PowerPoint, Word,,, ZOOM)
  • Proficient English language and communication skills
  • Open and positive mindset (see challenges as a chance rather than a problem)
  • Flexibility in terms of time and travel (happy with Cambodia as a long-term location)
  • Commitment towards our vision and mission
