Job Description

Support for European Business in South East Asian Markets (SEBSEAM) Program

The European Union has launched a 5-year program to provide Support for European Business in South East Asian Markets (SEBSEAM) particularly in Cambodia. The SEBSEAM program aims to increase and diversify exports and investments of EU business to Cambodia and ensure EuroChamís financial sustainability in the long term.

The European Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (EuroCham) will implement project activities that will facilitate and improve EU market access into Cambodia/ASEAN and establish new business partnerships with Cambodian companies as well as build closer relations with the Royal Government of Cambodia. The Network will promote the high potential business opportunities in Cambodia to EU industry sectors/enterprises and offer business support to EU enterprises interested in entering the Cambodian market.

Project summary

The global objective of the project is to contribute to increase and diversify exports and investments of EU-based SMEs to Cambodia and the ASEAN regional market.
 
Reporting

The Communication manager reports to the Executive Director.

Project Particulars

The project starts in August 2014.
 
Purpose

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Service and Outreach Managers, the Communication Manager will manage the day-to-day internal and external communications and marketing activities of EuroCham Cambodia.
 
Responsibilities

The Communication Managerís will:
  • Develop a 5 year Communication Road Map;
  • Lead the Communication and Events Team in the organization of events and forums;
  • Co-ordinate media and public affairs activities to promote EuroCham Cambodia, its services and advocacy mandate;
  • Monitor media and current affairs developments, across a wide range of relevant European media;
  • Prepare press statements and articles on issues for internal and external communications;
  • Manage the publication and promotion of EuroCham materials, including design and printing of the Information Package;
  • Maintain a strong brand for the EuroCham Cambodia, including publications, web site, social media and merchandise;
  • Ensure that EuroCham that online platforms, including the website, are updated and communication outputs are of a high standard and are delivered within agreed budget and timelines;
  • Develop and maintain member database;
  • Build on existing and develop new relationships with media, key decision makers, and other business associations;
  • Provide line-management and support to staff within the Communication and Events Team;
  • Lead relevant marketing initiatives;
  • Assist the Advocacy manager in drafting and proof-reading Position Papers and other advocacy documents;
  • Coordinate the publication of EuroChamís Business Directory;
  • Manage interaction with existing sponsors and recruit new ones;
  • Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required by the Executive Director.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in relevant discipline, preferably a Masterís Degree in communications;
  • Five yearsí experience in a communications, marketing or journalist role;
  • Experience in project management with a proven track record of delivering on objectives;
  • Experience of developing and implementing media, advocacy or marketing campaigns;
  • Experience of representing an organization to the public or/and media;
  • Knowledge and understanding of trade promotion/development;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Working knowledge of additional European languages is an asset;
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills;
  • Ability to manage a complex workload and work to tight deadlines;
  • Standard office ICT skills, including social media;
  • Knowledge of relevant design software.
