Job Description

Job Description
  • Develop and implement short, medium term and long term strategic plans in alignment with the vision and mission of the SBU and the group
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Sales & Marketing head and Corporate Strategy team to align on the SBU short, medium and long term strategic plans
  • Present and obtain approval from BOD on annual business plans and budgets
  • Monitor, review and present reports on the SBU financial performance, key performance measures, industry situation and investment opportunities to BOD
  • Closely monitor the financial performance against the budgeted and actual figures
  • Oversee the SBU operations to ensure targeted goals and performance measure are met
  • Master the energy supply chain of generation, transmission and distribution of electric power to the extent necessary to initiate, direct, review and analyze various types of strategic investment, system regulation, maintenance and operation, financials management, and business development in concrete and constructive manner
  • Lead, delegate the responsibilities and supervise the work of employees, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance
  • Work together with the person in charge of GR/PR in Corporate Office to build, develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with key partners, stakeholders and Government authorities
  • Collaborate with Finance Head, Financial Engineer and Group CFO on liaising with potential investors, banks and other financial institutions for financial engineering activities
  • Communicate clearly to all the stakeholders to ensure that all the information are up to date regarding SBU business activities
  • Work closely with Corporate HR and SBU HR for SBU manpower approval, recruiting of competent employees and developing of training program to complement the SBU strategies
  • Represent the SBU at legislative sessions, committee meetings, and at formal functions
  • Regularly assess the principal risks of the SBU, report to central Risk Management and ensure that these risks are carefully monitored and mitigated

Job Requirements

Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) or equivalent
  • Master in Business Administration or equivalent preferred
  • At least 15 to 20 years relevant experience in power generation industry with minimum 5 years of experience in managing role and proven record on developing and successfully executing strategies and business plans, preferably in Myanmar
  • Specific working knowledge in IPP projects acquisition and operations strongly preferred
  • Additional working knowledge in power T&D projects advantageous

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Strong analytical and logical skills with good judgment and decision making
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, legal and industry practices
  • Good familiarity with business functions such as business development, finance, etc.
  • Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects effectively under pressure
  • Demonstrate ability to work with foreign partners/joint ventures
  • Regular attendance to Power related events (conferences, networking events…)
  • Good level in spoken and written English
