Job Description

  • Conduct regular market research on current sources of supply, trends, product migration & relocation of production and provide market intelligence at a business group level to head office
  • Expand product categories in line with the business strategy to meet the expected company growth
  • Communicatewith the product development teams regarding the trend and direction to ensure key areas are covered
  • Establish internal KPIs for monitoring team performance and responsible for resources allocation / planning that can facilitate the team to meet or exceed agreed KPIs
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to provide ongoing feedback on performance and personal development
  • Work with Strategy & Planning team on cost saving opportunities with the best products and ensure correct country is chosen for supplier base development
  • Explore supplier base through Scorecard to ensure areas of accountability are assessed objectively and complied with the corrective action plan
  • Ensure smooth handover from development / order placement to production
  • Take the lead for planning the buying trips to ensure the best possible results are achieved
  • Prepare analysis as required on development critical path to production team for WIP discussion
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to provide ongoing feedback on performance and personal development 

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or above in relevant disciplines
  • Extensive experience in a sourcing or manufacturing environment with sound knowledge on related product category / technical requirements
  • Strong leadership skill with high level of commercial aptitude and ability to lead a team to drive business
  • Sound understanding of cultural differences across regions
  • Good communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in written & spoken in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Well-versed in computer applications MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Frequent travel is required
