Support the implementation of the ocean product strategy from Regional Ocean Product.
Facilitate ocean product development by supplementing area-specific product features to new products developed by Regional Ocean Product as well as by providing recommendations of new products which will benefit area.
Lead and support local carrier managers in the liaison and the procurement activities with the carriers to provide for best buying conditions and ultimately deliver the core carrier strategy.
Support the packaging and the communication of the Ocean freight product offering across the area.
Identify areaís market trends, potential and customer needs, expand and explore new market opportunities.
Act as technical resource for the area and actively engage with existing and new customers for their continuous support.
Give functional guidance and expertise to support the local operations teams of the area in achieving operational excellence, optimal productivity and profitability.
Drive optimization of margin and volume mix within the area through product and commercial initiatives rolled out from Regional Ocean Product.
Drive and manage KPI programs internally within the area to drive corporate efficiencies, reduce overall operations cost and to position Damco in delivering unparalleled customer service.
Drive development of products in close cooperation with Area/Regional Ocean Product/overseas network and facilitate trade lane development as per overall strategy.
Cooperate closely with global carrier management team/LCMs and drive implementation of carrier management strategy across region.
Ensure relevant governance and compliance within the area in accordance with Damco standards.
Participate or manage special projects and ensure continuous process improvement and guidance to branch offices.
Around 5 years of industry experience (NVOCC, Freight Forwarding, Ocean forwarding), with part of the experience focusing on operations and/or customer service.
Ability to work and thrive in a flexible matrix organisation with focus on networking and collaboration.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Team player with proven ability to work under pressure.
Passion for service delivery and cost effectiveness - and for identifying how to constantly improve.
Ability to balance operational priorities with commercial imperatives.
